Jared J. Lee

Jared J. Lee is originally from Seoul, South Korea. He is a proud Houstonian and Texan. Dr. Lee went to Stratford High School in Houston, TX followed by undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Lee returned to Houston where he graduated with a Doctorate in Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine in 2013 where he also served in multiple educational and admissions committees. He remained at Baylor College of Medicine for residency training in Internal Medicine, where he received Resident Distinguished Educator Certificate. Dr. Lee then completed his fellowship training in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital in 2020, where he was an instructor for Texas A&M Engineering and Medicine program. With his special interested in lung cancer, airway diseases and interventional procedures, Dr. Lee then trained at National Jewish Health – University of Colorado in Denver, CO for additional post-fellowship training in Interventional Pulmonology in 2021. He is happy and thankful to be back to his hometown and to have the privilege of serving fellow Houstonians.

While Dr. Lee has been involved and published in several clinical research projects and have given lectures and presentations in professional symposium, his main passion is in patient care and medical education. He is Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care Medicine and Interventional Pulmonology. His special clinical interests include lung cancer, lung nodules, pleural diseases and airway diseases such as tracheal stenosis and airway obstruction as well as general pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Dr. Lee serves as an interventional specialist to perform variety of pulmonary procedures such as advanced bronchoscopy, robotic bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) for diagnosis of pulmonary pathology such as lung cancer. He also performs therapeutic bronchoscopy using laser, Argon Plasma Coagulation, cryotherapy and steroid injection to treat airway diseases such as airway tumors or tracheal/bronchial stenosis (narrowing of trachea or bronchus). Dr. Lee also places Endobronchial / Intrabronchial Valves (EBV/IBV) for patients with severe COPD and he offers tracheostomy placement for patients with respiratory failure and helps manage following the procedure. Dr. Lee also has expertise in pleural diseases and performs diagnostic / therapeutic thoracentesis, chest tube placement, chest ultrasound and placement of Denver catheter (indwelling pleural catheter – PleurX).
