Bronchial Thermoplasty is a non-drug treatment for severe persistent asthma in patients 18 years and older whose asthma is not well controlled with inhaled corticosteroids and long-acting beta-agonists.

Bronchial Thermoplasty consists of an outpatient procedure that reduces excessive airway smooth muscle decreasing the ability of the airways to constrict and narrow during an asthma attack.
